There seems to be a new bug in Mojave that this does not fix the issue of. The only way to temporarily fix it is to fully remove VMWare restart and reinstall then the blocked kext comes up. MacOS seems to be removing the vmmon kext after my review on reboot. The System Preferences > Security & Privacy fix is only available after a complete removal (manually in terminal), restart and reinstall.

Hi Marcel,
honestly, I cannot understand how you were able to not find the right downloads:

Re: Authentication response on Vcenter 6.0.0, 4541948
Did you try setting the action for an invalid certifcate to ignore with the Set-PowerCLIConfiguration cmdlet?.
Set-PowerCLIConfiguration-InvalidCertificateActionIgnore-Confirm:$false

Hi Chip,
okay, the question is not very smart, but I do not understand your answer either ... How is this helpful?
Just curious

Can't install VMware Tools on Windows 2012 Server R2 guest
I've just installed Player 15 (fresh download from vmware.com) on a new Windows 10 x64 laptop.
I created a 2012 R2 guest with an ISO freshly downloaded from Microsoft. VMware tools did not install. Don't think it auto-mounted the Tools CD.
I tried Player > Manage > Install VMware tools but it's grayed out.
I mounted windows.iso from my VMware install directory and ran setup64.exe. It says it can't verify KB2919355 is installed. Windows Update says there are no more updates for this ISO image.
How can I install VMware Tools in this scenario!??

I'd like to add another useful resource:

Re: firmware
User states:
I didn't find firmware for this server on the Huawei website. maybe I'm looking at the wrong places .
They are indeed looking in the wrong place. I posted the link to the "right" place instead.
Re: Didn't receive licensce key after registration
Thank You for Your Posts
As a.p. mentioned you can find the license key at the donwload center.
Now just another question that need to be answered:
Can I reuse the key if reinstall esxi?

Re: VSAN best practices related question
Hello Manivel,
"Is there any recommended queue depth available to this H710 controller ? By default it is 64. May i know what is the recommended value to reset the queue depth? It is 256 or more ?"
You want the QD set as high as possible - 975 for a H710P controller, though do note that this is not a great controller and I would advise acquiring something more modern if possible.
"Do we need to disable write cache from this RAID controller ? i have not seen any options to disable. Is this must ?"
The cache should be set to 100% read or disabled - this should be configurable in the BIOS.

Re: Could not open /dev/vmmon: Broken pipe.
Thx. This fixed it
Re: Could not open /dev/vmmon: Broken pipe.
This is usually due to the security restrictions about identified developers of Mac OS X applications, to solve it just go to System Preferences > Security & Privacy and verify if VMWare is allowed to run and there is no mentioning of a blocked application.

Re: Could not open /dev/vmmon: Broken pipe.
Checked preferences and they are good. Rebooted and get the same error. any thoughts. On new mac air with mojave
fixed thanks to user pointing out.

Re: vSAN stretched cluster - DRS
Greetings,
in a vSAN Storage Policy the "Affinity Rule" can only be used with PFTT=0. In this case the VM will be stored on only one site, and you decide on which by setting the Affinity to either the primary or the secondary site.
Only in this case you should make sure that the VM can only run on hosts that are on the site where it is also stored (by using VM/Host DRS rules) to avoid inter-site traffic.
If you use Storage Policies with PFTT=1 for all your VMs then you don't need these rules, because the read locality feature will make sure that data is read locally.

Re: firmware
In the VMware HCL you will find information on what BIOS versions you should use resp. are supported:
VMware Compatibility Guide - System Search
but I guess he is also looking for the actual download, and for this you need to go to the vendor' site ...
ESXI 6.5 - Need help
I have a free esxi 6.5 that I am evaluating for three months now. I am receiving several warning logs for vmotion, FT, and others. Unfortunately, I do not have vcenter even vsphere client. Would there be a way to disable this? I did not configure this to be enabled.
Thank you
Re: The initiator could not establish a network connection to the target
Glad I found this posting.
I have the same issue. I did notice that I can NOT ping the addresses on the iscsi target but also not on the esxi side !
I am thinking I have the ip addresses set wrong.
So my main network is on 192.168.1.xxx
I have a dedicated nic which I set to 192.168.2.160 (should this be on the 192.168.1.xxx network?)
So, I can't ping this ipaddress , it says unreachable.
On the iSCSI target I have it set to 192.168.2.99 Is this correct? Should it also beon 192.168.1.xxxx ?????
The weird thing is is that my static targets do show up. I iSCSI target is on a synology 1618+. It has 4 nic's, 1 is to my network and works fine (ip is 192.168.1.102)
Hope someone knowledgable is still watching this.
Re: ESXI 6.5 - Need help
Are you using the evaluation version (no license key) or the free version (free license key)? When you say:
I am receiving several warning logs for vmotion, FT, and others.
what exactly do you mean and are seeing? Screenshots help.
Re: The initiator could not establish a network connection to the target
You appear to have networking issues, but based on your description alone it's hard to say. You either need to fully and completely describe all your networking that's in play here, or post ample screenshots that show this. iSCSI can be done several different ways, so without know what you have and how it's connected and configured, it's very difficult to pinpoint issues.
Re: vmware tools unrecoverable error vthread-3
Yes, did not find an answer.
The environment I'm using does not match. I assume the issue is based on my static addressing process I used.
Bad controller maybe. Rebuild controller cluster?
Hi. We 1 controller VM that has disconnected twice from the controller cluster in the last two months. We see vCenter alarms pointing to high memory usage maybe a week before it happens.
I opened a ticket and was told to rebuild the entire controller cluster, ie delete and install all 3 nsx controllers again. The ticket closed, and I forgot to ask if I can just delete this one node, because I remember several months ago during a fail over test, we are cross-site setup, when we failed back I inadvertantly deleted a primary controller instead of one at our secondary site when we were failing back. It got in a weird state so I think I deleted the VM actually. So I am not sure I screwed the database up on NSX or not.
Anyway I may open the ticket back up to give that information.
I am just hesitant to rebuild the entire cluster, and yes I know turning off DRS it should be no issue. I just wanted to try to delete this 1 controller first clenaing and redeploy it. Looking for any comments. Thanks,,,
